How To Setup Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) On Facebook

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security method that requires two different ways of proving your identity. It is commonly used in everyday life. For example paying with a credit card not only requires the card, but also a PIN, a signature, or an ID. With 1FA becoming increasingly unreliable as a security measure, 2FA is rapidly gaining importance for logging into online accounts.
To secure your Facebook account from hackers, it's very necessary that you setup your 2 factor authentication. In this post, I'll teach you how to do it with ease.

To use 2FA on Facebook, you'll need an account with a third-party authentication app such as Google Authenticator. If you have the the authenticator app and also created an account, then all that's left to do now is set up 2FA on Facebook using the authentication app. Here's how...

On Facebook.com:

  • Go to Facebook.com/settings.
  • Click "Security and Login".
  • Scroll down to "Use two-factor authentication" and click "Edit".
  • Click "Use authentication app" and follow the instructions.

On the Facebook app:

  • Click the three lines in the top-right of the app.
  • Click "Settings and Privacy".
  • Click "Settings".
  • Click "Security and Login".
  • Click "Use two-factor authentication".
  • Select "Authentication app" and follow the instructions.

How To Recover Facebook Account In 2021 (100% Working Method)

Gone are those times when recovering of a facebook Account works through clicking on forgotten password. I bet most of us must have tried accessing our lost Facebook account by clicking on forgotten password, in which after entering our phone number, email or facebook name, you will still get an error message that your account does not exist or cannot be found, despite the fact that the details you imputed are correct. Just as this image below.
Facebook recovery phone number not correct

If you've given up your facebook Account after a failed attempts while using the above recovery method, I have a good news for you. The good news is that you can successfully recover that your Facebook account successfully using the methods I'm going to share with you in this post. Do well to read till the end, you will sure get a solution.

Facebook offers several automated ways to recover your account. Most of them depend on information you entered and validated when setting up your account. If you haven't done that or if the information is outdated, the chances are slim that you'll be able to recover access to your account.
If your account was hacked and your details were changed, this post is for you. Just read to the end, you will get a solution.

Working Methods on How To Recover Facebook Account In 2021:

1. Create New Password From Logged In Device

Before you try to recover your account, check whether you are still logged into Facebook on any of your devices. This could be another browser or browser profile on your computer, your Facebook Android or iOS app, or a mobile browser, for example, your tablet.
If you can still access Facebook anywhere, you might be able to "recover" your Facebook password without a confirmation reset code; though what you'll actually do is create a new password.
Under Settings > Security and Login, scroll down to Login and click Change password. Enter your current password, set a strong new password (mixture of capital and small letters, numbers & special symbols) and click Save Changes.
Changing facebook password
After changing your password, scroll back up to Where You're Logged In. Either Log Out of individual sessions by clicking the three vertical dots or click the Log Out Of All Sessions option in the bottom-right after expanding the list. Do this only if you're sure you can log back in.
Facebook sessions

We recommend logging out completely, provided your contact details and security settings are up to date. You don't want to jeopardize your means of logging back in. If you're unsure, manually log out of all recent sessions that seem suspicious. After successfully getting back your account, kindly consider setting up two-factor authentication on Facebook.

2. Recover Your Account From Its Profile Page

If you have access to another Facebook account, for example your second account, account of a friend or family member, and you can access your account's profile page that way because you're Facebook friends, you can use this option. Note that it will require logging out that account.

To proceed with this option, search for your profile on your Facebook friend's or second account friend list, open it, and click the ... on or below your profile image (in the mobile app, the three-dot menu will show up below the image), then select Find Support or Report Profile.
Make sure you are using a computer to do this or you can switch your phone browser to desktop mode inorder for it to work well.
Facebook account report profile

From the next menu, select the appropriate option, in this case I Can't Access My Account, and click Next.

Facebook account report profile page

Facebook account report page, I can't access my account

In the final step, click Recover this account, which will log you out of the account you're using, to start the account recovery.

This will lead you to Reset Your Password.
The recovery is based on the phone number and email address/es you added to your account.

Facebook recovery method

If you didn't connect your Facebook to any email or phone number at all, this might not work for you. Kindly follow the instructions from the next method below.

3. Find and Recover Your Account With Contact Details
If you don't have access to Facebook at all or prefer not to log out of another account, open a new browser profile, e.g. a guest profile, and head to the Facebook recover page. Enter an email address or phone number you previously added to your Facebook account. When you search for a phone number, try it with or without your country code, e.g. 1, +1, or 001 for the US; all three versions should work. Even if it doesn't say so, you can also use your Facebook username.
Find your Facebook account

Once you successfully manage to identify your account, you will see a summary of your profile. Before you proceed, carefully check whether this really is your account and whether you still have access to the email address(es) or phone number(s) listed. You may be able to choose between email or phone recovery.

If you No longer have access to the email and password you used in opening the Facebook account, proceed to method number 4 of this post

If all looks well with the contact details that Facebook has on file for you, however, click Continue. Facebook will send you a security code.
Facebook security code

Retrieve the code from your email or phone (depending on which method you chose), enter it, and your Facebook account will be recovered successfully.
If you didn't receive the code after waiting for like 2 mins, click Didn't get a code? in the bottom-left corner of the Enter Security Code window, which will take you back to the previous screen. You can try again or maybe you'll realize that you don't have access to the account after all.

Log Back Into Your Facebook Account
If you managed to regain access to your account and if you suspect that your Facebook account was hacked, immediately change your password and update your contact information. These are key steps in securing your Facebook account. Be sure to remove any email addresses or phone numbers that are not your own or that you can no longer access.

 4. If You No Longer Have Access To Your Contact Information.

Most times, you can't recover your Facebook account using the above methods if you no longer have access to the email or number you used in opening your Facebook account, or maybe a hacker changed your contact information. In that case, Facebook allows you to specify a new email address or phone number, which it will use to contact you about recovering your account.

To start this process, click the link No longer have access to these? in the bottom-left of the reset password page (see abovemethod, for the Facebook account recovery process.)

Facebook reset password page

Facebook will ask you for a new email address or phone number, so that it can get in touch with you to help you recover your account. Click Continue to proceed.

Facebook reach

Alternatively, If you have set up Trusted Contacts, you can ask facebook friends to help you recover your Facebook account in the next step. You'll need to remember at least one full name of your Trusted Contacts to reveal all of them. Note that you only need three codes to recover your Facebook account.

If you didn't set up Trusted Contacts, you might be given the option to answer one of your security questions and reset your password on the spot. As an additional precaution, this comes with a 24-hour waiting period before you can access your account.

Otherwise, you might have to wait until Facebook gets in touch to verify your identity. Be patient.

5. For Hacked And Compromised Account.

Was Your Facebook Account Hacked to Send Out Spam?

In the event that your account was hacked and use in posting spam while you can no longer access it, you should report your Facebook account as compromised.

Facebook hacked report

This will actually start a similar process to the one outlined above. While you will use the same information to identify your account, in the following step you will be able to use either a current or old Facebook password to recover your account.

Facebook recovery method
This is useful in case a hacker changed your password, but it may also come in handy if you forget your new password.

6. Confirm Your Identity With Facebook

If all of Facebook's automated account recovery methods above have failed, your last hope is Facebook support itself.

Head to this page: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/183000765122339

Upload a JPEG (photo) of your ID, enter an email address or mobile phone number that is (or was) associated with the Facebook account you wish to recover, then click Send to submit the information.

Facebook account recovery submitting id
Note: If you didn't use your real name on Facebook, your hopes for recovering your account this way are close to zero.

If you know other method of recovering s Facebook account which is not listed in this post, kindly do well to contribute to the post using the comment box.

Facebook security Tips

If after trying the whole methods listed above and none worked, you just have to move on. As much as it hurts, learn from your mistakes, create a new account, be sure to add several valid contact details, secure your Facebook account, and rebuild your profile from scratch. It's a pain, but it's better than nothing. This also goes to those that their facebook Account are yet to be compromised. Update your account information with your correct and latest details, also secure your Facebook account using all the security features.

How To Remove Write Protection From SD Card

How To Remove Write Protection From SD Card

How To Remove Write Protection From SD Card
Have you ever encountered write Protection warning that that pops up when you insert an SD card into devices such as computer, digital camera, etc, and could not find a solution to it?

In this post you will find out:

  •  why you cannot format the write-protected SD card
  •  methods on how to remove protection from a memory card
  •  how Disk Internals software can help you

What does it mean, if an SD card is write protected?

This may happen every time: you insert an SD card to the adapter in your computer/laptop, digital camera, etc and you can view and read all the files located on it, but this is all that you can do with this SD card.
You will find it impossible to add anything, and you cannot format a write-protected card. Below are the possible reasons and solutions to why an SD Card is write protected.

Reasons and Solutions:

1. SD card is write-protected for physical reasons
SD card is write protected because of switcher
How To Remove Write Protection From SD Card

Here, the switch that protects the SD card from being overwritten is active.

To fix it, disable the lock. On each SD card on one side, there is a switch, which needs to be shifted in the opposite direction and then the SD card can be reconnected to the computer.

Did this method for removing write protection from an SD card not help you? No worries since there are many other solutions to the situation.

2. SD card write-protected due to software
This situation may occur due to read-only attributes.

To fix it, delete them using the command line.

Press Win + X at the same time; you will see a cmd window where you need to type "diskpart" on the keyboard and confirm pressing Enter.
How To Remove Write Protection From SD Card

Then enter the command "list disk" and press Enter.

Then enter the command "list disk" and press Enter.

Disks connected to the system will appear in a new window. Select your SD card (you can find it by the appropriate disk size; for example, drive 0).

Next, in command Prompt, type: "select disk 0", then press Enter.

Then enter the command "list disk" and press Enter.

Next, enter the attributes. "disk clear read-only command" and press Enter.

These actions will remove the attributes and remove write protection from your micro SD card.

4. Write protection is gone but so is the data
This is due to improper use of the diskpart utility. (Sometimes instead of removing the write protection, users format their SD cards). And, as you know, due to the formatting, all data is lost.

To fix it, use DiskInternals Partition Recovery. This application recreates the file system on the SD card, so the files can be found and restored. It recovers any file: photos, music, videos, documents, etc. You can also not worry about large files: the application can handle even them. It has been designed to satisfy user's needs without fail:

There are three recovery wizards that will explain everything to you step by step, depending on your file system: Partition Recovery Wizard, NTFS Recovery Wizard, and FAT Recovery Wizard.
There are several scan modes (fast, full).
There is a free file preview for assurance.
There is a trial version at no cost; you only need to pay if you want to save the recovered files to any disk visible to the system and with unshakable technical support.

WhatsApp Warns Users To Share Their Data With Facebook or Stop Using The App

WhatsApp Warns Users To Share Their Data With Facebook or Stop Using The App

The Facebook-owned messenger with 2 billion users revamps its privacy policy.

WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned messenger that claims to have privacy coded into its DNA, is giving its 2 billion plus users an ultimatum to agree to share their personal data with Facebook or delete their accounts.
The requirement is being delivered through an in-app alert directing users to agree to sweeping changes in the WhatsApp terms of service. Those who don’t accept the revamped privacy policy by February 8 will no longer be able to use the app.

Shortly after Facebook acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion in 2014, its developers built state-of-the-art end-to-end encryption into the messaging app. The move was seen as a victory for privacy advocates because it used the Signal Protocol, an open source encryption scheme whose source code has been reviewed and audited by scores of independent security experts.

In 2016, WhatsApp gave users a one-time ability to opt out of having account data turned over to Facebook. Now, an updated privacy policy is changing that. Come next month, users will no longer have that choice. Some of the data that WhatsApp collects includes:
  • User phone numbers
  • Other people’s phone numbers stored in address books
  • Profile names
  • Profile pictures and
  • Status message including when a user was last online
Under the new terms, Facebook reserves the right to share collected data with its family of companies.

“As part of the Facebook family of companies, WhatsApp receives information from, and shares information with, this family of companies,” the new privacy policy states. “We may use the information we receive from them, and they may use the information we share with them, to help operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services and their offerings.”
In some cases, such as when someone uses WhatsApp to interact with third-party businesses, Facebook may also share information with those outside entities.

A lack of transparency
The move comes a month after Apple started requiring iOS app makers, including WhatsApp, to detail the information they collect from users. WhatsApp, according to the App Store, reserves the right to collect:
Purchases
Location
Contacts
User content
Identifiers
Usage data and
Diagnostics

A WhatsApp spokeswoman declined to speak on the record about the changes and precisely how or if it’s possible for users to opt out of them. She agreed to email additional information on the condition it be kept on background, meaning none of the details can be quoted verbatim.
The move, the spokeswoman said, is part of a previously disclosed move to allow businesses to store and manage WhatsApp chats using Facebook's infrastructure. Users won't have to use WhatsApp to interact with the businesses and have the option of blocking the businesses. She said there will be no change in how WhatsApp shares provides data with Facebook for non-business chats and account data.

Together, the WhatsApp privacy policy and terms of service are more than 8,000 words long and are filled with legal jargon that makes it difficult for non-lawyers to understand. WhatsApp is doing its users a disservice by not agreeing to speak on the record so that reporters can fully understand the changes and explain them to readers.
WhatsApp users migrating to Telegram app

People who object to the new terms and policy should consider using a different messenger. The Signal messenger provides the same robust encryption engine with a much more transparent privacy policy and terms of service. (Those documents are half the length of those from WhatsApp, too.) Besides providing encrypted chats, Signal also offers encrypted audio and video calls.
And also, Telegram is another more encrypted messenger you need to move to. People that are already using telegram tends to prefer it to whatsapp.

What do you think about this new Privacy policy by WhatsApp?
