How To Check Devices Connected To Your Google Account
Google provides a Your devices section where you can review devices and sessions that are currently signed in to your account or were used within the last few weeks.
How To Check Devices Connected To Your Google Account
You can check your connected devices directly from your Google Account.
- Open Settings on your smartphone.
- Tap Google.
- Select Manage your Google Account.
- Tap the Security tab.
- Scroll down to Your devices.
- Tap Manage all devices.
- You will see devices and sessions where your Google Account is currently signed in or was recently used.
- Tap any device or session to view more details.
You can also access the device list through Google’s account security page.
What You Can See On The Device List
The device list can show information about the devices or sessions connected to your Google Account. You may see smartphones, tablets, computers and other devices where you have recently signed in.
Google may also show multiple sessions for what appears to be the same type of device. This does not necessarily mean that someone has connected several identical devices to your account. Different sessions can be created when you sign in through a new browser, app or service, re-enter your password or use a private browsing window.
How To Check If You Recognise A Device
Go through the list carefully and check the device names, recent activity and other available details.
Keep in mind that the time shown by Google is the last communication between the device or session and Google's systems. Background synchronisation can make the time appear more recent than the last time you actively used the device.
You may also see a device that you recently reset or a device where you previously used your Google Account.
How To Sign Out A Device You No Longer Use
If you no longer own a device or it has been lost, you can sign out of your Google Account from that device.
- Open your Google Account.
- Go to Security.
- Under Your devices, tap Manage all devices.
- Select the device you no longer use.
- Tap Sign out.
- Confirm the action if prompted.
Google recommends signing out of devices that you have lost, no longer own or do not recognise.
What To Do If You See An Unfamiliar Device
If you see a device or session that you do not recognise, do not ignore it.
First, review its details to determine whether it could be an old device, a recent sign-in or another session created by one of your activities. If you are certain that the device does not belong to you, sign it out.
If you believe someone else has accessed your account, Google recommends taking additional steps to secure it, including changing your password and reviewing recent security activity.
Check Your Google Account Regularly
Checking the devices connected to your Google Account can help you identify old devices and unfamiliar sign-ins.
If you have sold an old phone, lost a device or previously signed in on someone else's computer, review the Manage all devices section and sign out of devices you no longer use.
This is a simple step that can help you keep your Google Account more secure.
